A powerful, very hot rasayana and caustic nut requiring careful purification (shodhana) before use. Used for kapha-vata disorders, worms, piles and chronic skin disease, it is toxic when raw.

Classical rasayana that is a potent contact irritant; the raw nut is toxic and causes severe dermatitis, so only properly purified material in controlled dose is used.
