A bitter, heating kapha-vata drug valued for diarrhoea, dysentery and worm-related complaints. Also used in gynaecology and wound care as a deepana and krimighna herb.

  • pitta ulceration
  • pregnancy

Possible interactions

  • may add to neuromuscular blockers (contains tropane-type alkaloids)
