Application of a caustic herbal alkali (kshara) to excise or cauterise lesions without a blade, a classical chemical para-surgical method.

What it involves
A prepared herbal alkaline paste of graded strength is applied for a controlled time to slough or shrink a lesion, then neutralised with a sour agent; used for growths, sinuses and certain ano-rectal conditions.
