Pratimarsha Nasya

A gentle daily nasal oleation using just a drop or two of oil in each nostril, safe for routine home use to lubricate the nasal passages and support the head and senses.

What it involves

One to two drops of suitable oil (such as anu taila or plain sesame) are instilled into each nostril and gently sniffed, typically after cleansing; unlike therapeutic Nasya it needs no elaborate preparation and can be done regularly.

  • maintenance of the head and senses
  • mild tension headaches
  • daily prevention as part of dinacharya

  • acute cold with heavy congestion
  • immediately after meals or bathing
  • sinus infection (until resolved)
