Warm oil is retained over the back within a dough boundary to relieve back pain, stiffness and spinal Vata disorders.

What it involves

A dough reservoir is placed over the affected part of the back (often the mid or upper spine) and filled with warm medicated oil, kept warm and renewed for 20-40 minutes.

  • Vata disorders of the back

  • acute injury with swelling and heat
  • broken skin
  • spinal red-flag symptoms (seek medical care)
