Regular bodily exercise to half of one's capacity, classically recommended to build strength, lighten the body, improve digestion and reduce Kapha and fat.

What it involves
Physical exertion suited to one's strength, season and constitution is performed to the point of comfortable exertion (classically 'half strength', judged by sweating and breathing through the mouth), then stopped and followed by rest.
Traditionally used for
- obesity and heaviness
- sluggish digestion
- Kapha excess
- building stamina and stability
Contraindications & cautions
- Vata and Pitta excess (moderate only)
- after meals
- severe weakness, wasting or certain heart and lung disease
- during acute illness or in the very old and very young (gentle only)
