Ingredients
- 1.5 cups cooked chickpeas, dried well
- 1 tsp sunflower oil
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 pinch black pepper or mild chilli
Method
- Toss chickpeas with oil and spices.
- Roast at 200°C / 400°F for 25–30 minutes until crisp, shaking twice.
- Cool slightly — they crisp further — and salt lightly.
Agni note. Chickpeas are astringent and drying — great for Kapha, but Vata should eat them sparingly and well-spiced.
